Slow Looking: These views are our tools

2 color risograph book, coil bound, Edition size: 200, Published with Childish Press, Portland, Maine, 2021

Inspired by, and dedicated to, artist, educator, and social justice advocate Corita Kent, Slow Looking: These Views Are Our Tools is an invitation to practice a different way of seeing our world. In this artist book, Lukaza Branfman-Verrisimo offers us prompts, coloring pages, and 2 dicut viewfinders, as tools for slowness.

During this all ages event we will spend 20 minutes crafting paper viewfinders, then collectively use them to look slowly at our environments while sharing our views over zoom. We are honored to host this event to celebrate the launch of Lukaza Branfman-Verissimo’s new book, Slow Looking: These Views Are Our Tools. The book will be available for purchase on the Childish Books Printed Matter Virtual Art Book Fair webpage throughout the run of the fair.
